Context
In aviation, compliance isn't something you prepare for only when an audit is approaching.
Documentation, SOPs, training requirements and operational processes need to remain in order continuously.
My Role
A significant part of my responsibility was managing documentation and operational requirements so the operation stayed audit ready.
At different points in my aviation career, this involved working across:
Ground Operations Safety Training Legal Operational teams
What It Required
The work included maintaining regulatory documentation, keeping SOP-related requirements in order, and supporting operational readiness.
When disruptions or operational issues occurred, risk assessment and corrective action were also part of the wider operating environment.
Goal
The goal was simple:
Be ready before the auditor arrives.
Learning
Compliance works best when it is part of the operating system, not a separate exercise performed just before someone checks it.
